Harry Potter

Meta Essays:

While answering feedback to 'Path', many questions keep appearing over and over again. Don't think for a moment that I don't love answering any and all questions, but sometimes, it does get repetitive and some answers are really too long write up. So, in order to save myself time, I am putting up mini essays concerning some of the most frequently asked questions.

What I thought about 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'
(Since the last book came out in July, the dominant opinion has been a positive one. Mine is anything but. Consider yourself warned.)

Why Severus Snape Dislikes Harry Potter
(A question asked many times during the course of my 'Path' trilogy. My answer is partially based on canon, but mostly based on my interpretations of the Severus Snape character I have established in my 'Path' trilogy.)

The 'Path' Trilogy
(these links will take you to the stories on fanfiction.net. Reformated versions will be put up here upon completion of the last part)
(Story follows general canon up to and including Book 6, but is AU in regards to Book 7)

Path of Glittering Darkness: R

Severus Snape is rescued from an abusive childhood by Albus Dumbledore and is taken to live at Hogwarts as a student and as part of the family. During his years at the school, he meets lifelong friends and enemies and eventually, Lucius Malfoy. Due to a series of misunderstandings and emotional scars that will never fade, Severus is lured away from Hogwarts and straight into Lord Voldemort's waiting grasp.

Path of Shaded Light: R

Having made his way back to Hogwarts, Severus faces a long recovery which is both physical and mental. Once he is well, Dumbledore gives him the choice to either run or to return to Voldemort as a spy. Having made his choice, Severus must learn how to carry out his new task and what it means to truly be a Slytherin. In doing so, he learns to balance two very different lives and conflicting obligations.

Path of Twinkling Dusk: R

Still grieving and having just been released from Azkaban following his trial, Severus agrees to take over as Head of Slytherin house. Faced with rebellious teenagers and a house that has been wasting away for decades, Severus struggles to clean up his house's reputation and to teach his students how to be proud Slytherins. Over the course of many years, he deals with the younger versions of Malfoy, Nott and Potter, and later resumes his role as a spy.
