Canadian Rocky Mountains

The pictures on this page are only thumbnails. By clicking on a thumbnail a medium sized image, in most cases 942x648 pixels, will be displayed.
Some of the pictures are panoramas, large pictures created by stitching several individual pictures together; even the medium sized versions shown here are only a fraction (in most cases about 1/4) of the original sizes.

More panoramas from the Rocky Mountains are on a separate page, see Rocky Panos

Marble Canyon

One of the most interesting places of the Canadian Rockies is the Marble Canyon. A devastating, weeks long forest fire in 2003 destroyed almost all vegetation in this area (the forest on the entire mountain side too was burning).
